POCKET SQUARE
(coming fall 2026)
just femme + dandy’s
queer fashion album
Times are wild. AI is encroaching upon the creative acts of writers and artists everywhere and in this digital age, so many of us are returning to the analog practices of publishing and image making of the late 20th century. At the same time, who can afford to print a magazine anymore? I, for one, miss the days of ripping pages out of Teen Vogue and plastering them to the wall. The colored pressing and exclusive inserts of indie vinyl have become its own art form, while the CD and cassette remain (mostly, I can proudly and do still play both) lost to nostalgia. The young ones are bringing back cameras and darkrooms in spades, and zines printed on risographs are being passed through hands at nightclubs and afterparties in the dark the way we siblings and elders used to slip folded notes in our beloved’s lockers.
Our answer to these swirling shifts in queer, punk, and alternative journalism and creative expression? Meet pocket square. Currently publishing each fall, pocket square will bring you everything you loved about a fashion magazine, but make it queer and scrappy, braiding digital and analog to bring you a new queer publishing project you’ve never seen before, tucked into a vinyl dust jacket with a 7” record exclusive by a queer indie musician.
To give you a hint, this is just a taste of what what we have planned for our first pocket square: A glossy editorial, how to dress on a budget, skincare tips, NYFW roundups, Pride recaps from around the world, a fold-out poster, and yes, dare we say it, an illustrated pocket square.
Please join us as we bring you cutting edge queer fashion journalism by us, for us.
